Plot

After a teacher in a Kosovo village talks to a journalist about wartime rapes, the village men react with hostility, and she is shunned for breaking the silence about what happened. Isa Qosja's 2014 film, the first Kosovan film submitted for the Oscars, is a restrained, powerful drama about stigma and courage in a post-war community.

Sinekatalog’s take

Isa Qosja's drama follows a Kosovo village teacher who speaks to a journalist about wartime rapes and is shunned by the men. Quiet and powerful, it is a brave, simply shot film about silence, shame and survivors' dignity.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
