Morocco

Moroccan cinema has grown steadily since the 1980s, supported by the national film centre and festivals such as Marrakech. Directors like Nabil Ayouch and Maryam Touzani focus on social margins, women's lives, young people and tradition versus modernity, with a warm, observant style that has found audiences in Europe and the Arab world.
