Sinekatalog’s take

Youssef Chahine's semi-autobiographical film follows a movie-obsessed young man in wartime Alexandria amid Egyptians, British and Germans. Lively, personal and humane, it won the Berlin Silver Bear and opened his autobiographical quartet.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
