Sinekatalog’s take
Shyam Benegal's debut follows a landlord's educated son who begins an affair with a lower-caste servant and shakes a village. Shabana Azmi is remarkable in a quiet, angry and landmark film of Indian parallel cinema.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
