Sinekatalog’s take
Merzak Allouache's drama follows an Algiers baker who throws away an Islamist loudspeaker and must hide from the militants. Tense, sharp and brave, shot as the civil war loomed, it is a vivid and prophetic portrait of a neighbourhood under threat.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
