Plot

Noura, a twelve-year-old boy in a Tunis neighbourhood in the 1960s, is on the edge of adolescence. He still goes to the women's hammam, but is told he is too old, and he is curious about women and the adult men who surround him. Férid Boughedir's 1990 film, a humorous and tender coming-of-age story, was a big success in Tunisia and abroad.

Sinekatalog’s take

Férid Boughedir's coming-of-age comedy follows a twelve-year-old Tunis boy curious about women and adult secrets as he is shut out of the hammam. Warm, sensuous and funny, it is a joyful portrait of boyhood and a changing city.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
