Plot

In Vichy-controlled Casablanca in 1941, the American cynic Rick Blaine runs a nightclub where refugees wait for exit visas. His past comes back when his lost love, Ilsa, arrives with her husband, the resistance leader Victor Laszlo, who needs the letters of transit that Rick holds. Rick must choose between his feelings and the fight against the Nazis. Michael Curtiz's 1942 film, with Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman, is full of famous lines and songs and won the Academy Award for Best Picture.

Sinekatalog’s take

Wartime romance, political intrigue and a bar full of cynics. The script is dense with great lines, and Bogart's weary Rick, torn between love and duty, is one of cinema's definitive heroes.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
