Sinekatalog’s take

Max Ophüls's noir melodrama has Barbara Bel Geddes trapped in a marriage to a tyrannical millionaire, played by Robert Ryan. Taut and stylish, with James Mason as a decent doctor, it is a sharp look at wealth's cruelty.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
