Sinekatalog’s take
Max Ophüls's noir-tinged melodrama has Joan Bennett shielding her daughter from a blackmailer who grows sympathetic. Elegant camera movement and James Mason's soulful menace make a tense, humane domestic thriller.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
