A series of sketches of Palestinian life; best first film at Venice.

Sinekatalog’s take

Elia Suleiman's debut strings together deadpan sketches of Palestinian life in Nazareth and Jerusalem, with the director silently watching. Dry, comic and sad, it is an original, Tati-like portrait of dislocation and belonging.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
