Sinekatalog’s take

Elem Klimov's Soviet war film follows a boy through the Nazi occupation of Belarus. It is immersive, nightmarish and exhausting, and few films capture the loss of childhood in war so directly.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
