Plot

Over a hot weekend in the suburbs of Vienna, a series of people, among them a lonely old man, a hitchhiker, a couple on the verge of separation and a security guard, live out their dismal lives. The stories intersect in scenes of cruelty and sadness. Ulrich Seidl's 2001 film, known in German as Hundstage, mixes professional and amateur actors and won the Grand Jury Prize at Venice.
