Plot

After their young daughter drowns in an accident, John and Laura Baxter go to Venice, where John is restoring a church. A blind psychic tells Laura that their daughter is trying to warn them of danger, while John glimpses a small figure in a red coat in the city's alleys, and a killer is at large. Nicolas Roeg's 1973 film, with Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie, is a chilling meditation on grief and premonition.

Sinekatalog’s take

Nicolas Roeg's Venice chiller is a masterpiece of grief and dread. Its fragmented editing, the red coat and the shocking ending make it unnerving, and Julie Christie and Donald Sutherland are heartbreaking.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
