Plot
A young wife in Prussian society.
Sinekatalog’s take
Rainer Werner Fassbinder's black-and-white adaptation of Fontane follows a young Prussian wife trapped by convention after a brief affair. Hanna Schygulla is superb in a distanced, mirror-framed, tragic study of social cruelty.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
