Plot
On Halloween night in 1963, the six-year-old Michael Myers murders his sister. Fifteen years later he escapes from a mental hospital and returns to his hometown, Haddonfield, where he stalks the teenage babysitter Laurie Strode and her friends, pursued by his doctor, Dr Loomis. John Carpenter's 1978 low-budget film, with its simple piano theme and prowling camera, created the template for slasher films.
Sinekatalog’s take
John Carpenter's low-budget slasher stalks a babysitter through a quiet suburb. Its piano theme, prowling camera and restraint made it a model for countless slashers, and it is still efficient and scary.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
