Plot

Barbra, a young woman, flees a cemetery where her brother has been attacked by a ghoul and takes refuge in a farmhouse, where she meets Ben and others. As the dead rise to feed on the living, the survivors argue about how to survive and fight each other. George A. Romero's 1968 low-budget film, made in black and white, reinvented the zombie film and was widely read as a commentary on American society.

Sinekatalog’s take

George A. Romero's cheap black-and-white horror traps survivors in a farmhouse besieged by flesh-eating ghouls. Raw, bleak and politically charged, it set the template for the modern zombie film.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
