Plot

A grieving American and a young Parisian woman begin an anonymous affair in an empty flat. The film is controversial, and the filming of one scene without the actress's full consent has been widely criticised.

Sinekatalog’s take

Bertolucci's 1972 drama of an anonymous affair is bold, raw and Brando at his most exposed. Its artistry is undeniable, but the shadow of a scene filmed without the actress's full consent makes it a troubled classic.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
