Plot
Four prisoners in La Santé plan to dig their way out, and a newcomer to their cell must be trusted. Based on a real escape.
Sinekatalog’s take
Jacques Becker's prison-escape film, using non-professional actors, is a lean, nail-biting masterpiece. Its painstaking tunnelling scenes and bleak ending make it one of cinema's finest escape dramas.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
