Plot

A possessive mother and a hapless family are upset when the son announces he is in love, with a woman who is his father's mistress.

Sinekatalog’s take

Jean Cocteau's film of his own play has a possessive mother, a muddled family and a son in love with his father's mistress. Jean Marais and Yvonne de Bray are electric in a claustrophobic, theatrical and wildly melodramatic chamber piece.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
