Plot
Nicola, a young Sicilian, leaves Palermo for Wolfsburg to work at the Volkswagen factory, where he lives in a cold, strange world and falls in love with a German girl. He is eventually accused of murder. Werner Schroeter's 1980 film, which won the Golden Bear in Berlin, is a depiction of immigrant alienation in West Germany, and is characteristic of Schroeter's intense style.
