A modern retelling of the Carmen story, with Beethoven quartets on the soundtrack.

Sinekatalog’s take

Jean-Luc Godard's playful retelling of Carmen has a gangster's moll and a guard in love, to Beethoven quartets. Fragmentary, sensual and witty, it won the Golden Lion and is a cool, musical Godard divertissement.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
