Plot

During the Bosnian war, a group of Serb soldiers is trapped in a tunnel by Bosnian forces. As they wait for rescue, one of them, Milan, recalls the Sarajevo childhood friendship with a Muslim, Halil, who is now an enemy, and how the war destroyed their village and a whole society. Srdjan Dragojević's 1996 film mixes dark humour and violence, and was controversial.

Sinekatalog’s take

Srdjan Dragojević's Bosnian war film is visceral, darkly comic and polarising. It blends tragedy and black humour with tough visuals, though its perspective has drawn controversy.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
