Sinekatalog’s take
Nelson Pereira dos Santos's neorealist film follows five favela boys selling peanuts around Rio on a hot Sunday, their lives crossing with rich city dwellers. Vivid and humane, it is a landmark that anticipated Cinema Novo.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
