Sinekatalog’s take
Jia Zhangke's drama follows two people searching for spouses in a Yangtze town being flooded for the Three Gorges Dam. Quiet, wry and surreal, it is a striking portrait of a country transforming at human cost.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
