Sinekatalog’s take

Ritwik Ghatak follows refugees who build a new life by the Subarnarekha river, until a brother and sister are drawn into tragedy. Emotional, stylised and bruised by Partition, it is one of his finest and most painful films.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
