Plot

Suzy Bannion, an American dancer, arrives at an elite ballet academy in Freiburg on a stormy night, as another student is murdered. She notices that strange things happen in the school: maggots, odd noises, vanishing teachers. She discovers that the academy is run by a coven of witches. Dario Argento's 1977 film, with a pounding score by Goblin and lurid colours, is a high point of Italian horror.

Sinekatalog’s take

Dario Argento's giallo-horror is a candy-coloured nightmare of blood, witches and a pounding Goblin score. The plot is thin, but the lurid visuals and sound design make it a landmark.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
