Sinekatalog’s take
Roman Polanski's adaptation of Hardy is a ravishing, long and tragic period drama. Nastassja Kinski is luminous, Geoffrey Unsworth's pastoral photography won an Oscar, and the film is classically beautiful.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
