Sinekatalog’s take
Haile Gerima's epic follows an Ethiopian doctor returning from Germany to a country ruined by the Derg regime and a changed home village. Rich, long and poetic, it is a bruising, personal and political meditation on exile and memory that won Venice's screenplay prize.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
