Plot

A strange, experimental film starring the singer Nico and her young son Christian Aaron Boulogne. In a series of long, hypnotic images shot in Iceland, Egypt and elsewhere, a man and a woman wander through desolate landscapes, and a son and a dream figure appear. Philippe Garrel's 1972 film, known in French as La Cicatrice intérieure, has little conventional plot and is a cult work.

Sinekatalog’s take

Philippe Garrel's hypnotic film sends Nico and a young man across Iceland, Egypt and other empty landscapes in long, silent images. Mystical, austere and beautiful, it is an intense, hermetic experiment for patient viewers.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
