Sinekatalog’s take
Hou Hsiao-hsien's biographical drama covers the life of puppeteer Li Tianlu under Japanese rule, mixing interviews and re-enactment. Long, calm and dense, it is a rich, patient portrait of Taiwan's memory and art.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
