Sinekatalog’s take

Manoel de Oliveira's seven-hour adaptation of Paul Claudel's play stages a love that cannot be fulfilled across the Spanish empire. Theatrical, ornate and grand, with Luís Miguel Cintra, it is a monumental, demanding act of faith in language and cinema.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
