A gambling house in Shanghai.

Sinekatalog’s take

Josef von Sternberg's overripe melodrama set in a Shanghai casino pits Gene Tierney against a scheming madam. Hampered by the Production Code, it is a feverish, stylised oddity that is more camp than coherent.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
