Sinekatalog’s take

Maurice Pialat's Palme d'Or winner follows a tormented rural priest battling doubt and the devil. Gérard Depardieu is intense in a harsh, divisive adaptation of Bernanos that was booed and then widely admired.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
