Sinekatalog’s take

Mikhail Kalatozov's biographical film on the Soviet test pilot is a heroic portrait made in the age of aviation propaganda. Skilled and stirring, it shows Kalatozov's flair for movement, even in the service of a state myth.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
