Plot

A woman arrives in Lisbon from Cape Verde three days after the funeral of the husband she had waited forty years to join, and lives in his shack.

Sinekatalog’s take

Pedro Costa's austere film follows a Cape Verdean woman arriving in Lisbon too late for her husband's funeral and living in his shack. Shot in deep shadows like Dutch paintings, it is a slow, hypnotic and monumental work.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
