Sinekatalog’s take

Sergei Parajanov's last film retells a Lermontov tale of a poor minstrel winning his love through trials. Lush, ritualistic and painterly, with striking colours and costumes, it is a joyful, final celebration of folk art.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
