The highest-grossing Indian film of its time.
Sinekatalog’s take
Raj Kapoor's early romance follows a young man torn between love and a ruinous tryst, with Nargis and Nimmi. Melodramatic and lyrical, with a classic Shankar-Jaikishan score, it was a huge hit and established Kapoor's star persona.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
