A man, Sebastián, whose wife is affected, travels to the city to seek help and justice. Jorge Sanjinés's 1969 film, titled Yawar Mallku in Quechua, made with the participation of indigenous people, was an influential protest film.

Sinekatalog’s take

Jorge Sanjinés's film exposes the sterilisation of Quechua women by a foreign aid agency and the community's resistance. Raw, angry and shot with non-professionals, it is a landmark of Latin American political cinema that stirred real-life change.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
