A palace tragedy in the Tang dynasty.
Sinekatalog’s take
Zhang Yimou's palace tragedy is a riot of gold, colour and betrayal. Chow Yun-fat and Gong Li play a poisonous marriage, and the film is spectacular, if more melodramatic than subtle.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
