Sinekatalog’s take
Andrei Konchalovsky's black-and-white drama recreates the 1962 Novocherkassk massacre through a loyal Party official's crisis. Austere, tense and shockingly precise, with Yulia Vysotskaya superb, it won the Venice Special Jury Prize.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
