Plot

Edward, an artificial man with scissors for hands, left unfinished by his creator after the inventor's death, lives alone in a gothic mansion. A kind Avon saleswoman takes him home to her pastel-coloured suburb, where he becomes a local curiosity and falls in love with her daughter, Kim. Tim Burton's 1990 film, with Johnny Depp, is a gentle fairy tale about being different.

Sinekatalog’s take

Tim Burton's gothic fairy tale puts an artificial man with scissor hands into pastel suburbia. Johnny Depp is moving, Danny Elfman's score is lovely, and the film is gentle and strange.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
