Soldiers in a World War I trench.
Sinekatalog’s take
Ermanno Olmi's quiet war film watches Italian soldiers in a snowbound World War I trench, in a sombre, painterly chamber piece. Austere and humane, it is a moving, anti-heroic reflection on fear and endurance.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
