Sinekatalog’s take
Ermanno Olmi's historical drama recounts the last days of Giovanni de' Medici, wounded fighting Charles V's mercenaries in 1526. Austere and painterly, it is a quiet, grave film about the changing nature of war.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
