Plot

Shakespeare's account of the young English king, who after a wild youth, claims the French throne and invades France. After the siege of Harfleur, he leads his weary, outnumbered army to a famous victory at the Battle of Agincourt. Kenneth Branagh's 1989 directorial debut, with himself as the king, gives the play a muddy, realistic treatment, in contrast to Laurence Olivier's version of 1944.

Sinekatalog’s take

Kenneth Branagh's Shakespeare debut is stirring and muddy, a rousing take on the Agincourt story. Branagh's energetic Henry and the long single-take aftermath of battle make it a vivid, human epic.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
