A documentary on Shanghai and its history.

Sinekatalog’s take

Jia Zhangke's documentary uses interviews with Shanghai residents, from filmmakers to survivors, to trace a century of the city's history. Elegant, human and poetic, with Zhao Tao as a silent guide, it is a rich portrait of memory and change.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
