Peasants and landowners on the Po in the nineteenth century.
Sinekatalog’s take
Alberto Lattuada's period drama pits peasants against landowners in the nineteenth-century Po valley, in a sweeping Verdi-like melodrama. Carla Del Poggio and Jacques Sernas star in a vivid, passionate and well-photographed epic.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
