Sinekatalog’s take
Jiří Menzel's comedy sends political prisoners to a scrapyard where love and humour persist, a film banned for twenty years. Warm, funny and bittersweet, it is a defiant Czech New Wave gem.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
