Sinekatalog’s take

Robert Bresson's cool melodrama has Maria Casarès arranging a prostitute's marriage to her unfaithful lover for revenge. Stark and elegant, with a Cocteau-written dialogue, it is a striking, icy early Bresson.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
