Sinekatalog’s take
Max Ophüls's romantic melodrama, with Joan Fontaine, is a gorgeous tragedy of lifelong love. Its sweeping camera, Viennese settings and aching sadness make it a high point of classic cinema.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
