Sinekatalog’s take

Vincente Minnelli's adaptation of Flaubert follows a doctor's wife ruined by romantic illusions and debts. Jennifer Jones is touching, and the opulent ball sequence and a framing trial lend flair to a handsome but tame version.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
